Subject: New Appointments to UK Supreme Court

Dear Colleagues,

It has been announced today that Lord Reed and Carnwath LJ are to fill the two vacancies on the UK Supreme Court: http://www.supremecourt.gov.uk/docs/pr_1113.pdf. Lord Reed will succeed the late, great Lord Rodger, having already sat as an Acting Judge on the several Scots appeals over the past year. Carnwath LJ, a former Chancery division judge and Chairman of the Law Commission, will succeed Lord Brown when he retires in the Spring. Both will bring private law expertise to the Court.

Merry Christmas to all ODG members.

Best wishes,

James
